The Quilting Divas

After lots of discussion about writing a book about our quilting adventures together as a "sisterhood of quilters" I've decided a blog is a great way to start! Who knows, tho', one day we may have that book and you can say you "knew us when".

Our little group started way before I came on board, back to when several of them met on a regular basis with a group. Eventually 5 of them started meeting locally in one another's homes...that is where I come in. On 9-11 I stopped by my neighbor's house, only to interrupt one of their bagged lunches. Little did they know that I was looking for someone to teach me how to quilt...a perfect fit and we became "US"...the Quilting Divas!

There are 6 of us in our "group" and as we blog we will begin to unveil our journey together. What binds us together as sisters is our love for God and the relationship we have and share with Him through one another. We've share happy times...raising kids, weddings, births of grandchildren, going back to school, starting businesses, going back to work...and we've shared sorrow...deaths of loved ones, divorce, aging parents.

Welcome to our story...our quilts...our favorite recipes...our tips...and our journey. Happy Quilting!

2004 Retreat at SML...warm and breezy

  1. I love it! There's the yellow brick road I NEVER quilted (you know, the one I 'taught' Jane how to piece all wrong because I can't follow directions). There's Cindy's patriotic table square that I LOVE. I think Margaret is holding James' quilt? Ellen a quilt for her new niece? To think we got all that done over a long weekend!

  2. Wow...I love it. I knew Ellen would have pictures and know where they were, even! We don't have much longer...I'm cutting and organizing already.

  3. I am cutting and organizing too. I'll compile a checklist of items to bring and post it here soon. I have all my pictures in one place! It's fun to look at the quilts and talk about "where they are now!

  4. Why am I listed twice as a blogger? Wonder how I goofed that up? The second "Danette" has my profile, pic., etc.
I am just starting to get ready for the retreat. I am looking forward to this retreat more than any other in years past. I am taking the whole week off! Can't wait!
