Sew crazy!!!

I too figured this blog out but then I thought I'd add a photo like Ellen. For the past several years I have made Christmas stockings for each of my four adult children and my two son-in-laws along with each of my grandchildren, who have been coming at a rapid rate over the past six years. First there was Cora, now 6. She received the very first quilted Christmas stocking. Then came Andrew and Joshua, now both 4, cousins. After two years two more boy cousins were born; Matthew and River. As they came I made stockings for each. So in 2009 our daughter; Emily gave us another granddaughter in September and I had to make another stocking. But this year I decided to do something different and follow an actual pattern from a magazine. Little did I know that the sum total of each of the 150 pieces would take 20 to 25 hours to construct using foundation piecing. Finally two days before Christmas I did finish it and presented it to my daughter; Emily for her daughter; Rylee. I don't know if I would ever attempt this stocking pattern again, but I gained a lot of experience with foundation piecing and I would probably try another foundation piecing pattern, most likely a star pattern. Well, I hope you readers are encouraged to quilt with your friends as we do, we have a wonderful group and over the years we have planned and attended numerous retreats, but more about that later.
